The ContrafabulistsKin Lane and Audrey Watters – monitor predictions that technologists and marketers make about the future of technology. No surprise, most of the predictions are made about AI, a development whose future folks have been predicting incorrectly since the 1950s.

Here are the predictions made this week:

“In five years, one in 10 jobs in India will disappear,” Quartz predicts.

So many Bitcoin predictions: “Investor Ari Paul Bets $1 Million That Bitcoin Price Hits $50,000 by 2018,” according to NewsBTC. “Bitcoin could hit $60,000 in 2018 but another crash is coming, says startup exec,” says CNBC.

Forbes says, “These States Are Likely To Legalize Marijuana In 2018.” Vermont, Michigan, New Jersey.

Via Inc: “The 10 Top Skills That Will Land You High-Paying Jobs by 2020, According to the World Economic Forum.” I hope one of the skills is making up fake statistics about the future.

“OER Had Its Breakthrough in 2017,” says Edsurge. “Next Year, It Will Become an Essential Teaching Tool.”

In the next few days, I’ll chronicle all these sorts of predictions for next year…
